Eagles Autism Foundation Allocates $6.2 million to Autism Research and Care
The well-known Eagles Autism Foundation has recently achieved a significant milestone in autism research and treatment, amassing a substantial $6.2 million. These funds, intended for 34 distinctive projects, were carefully accumulated during last year’s Eagles Autism Challenge and several related fundraising initiatives under our coverage.
Who Will Benefit from the Funds?
The generous grant is poised to strengthen several beneficiaries including revered educational establishments like Drexel University, Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. Apart from these, local organizations like A Step Up Academy, Center for Autism, and Center for Autism Research at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, Ken’s Krew, and Kinney Center for Autism Education and Support will also benefit remarkably.
The Foundation’s Dedication to Autism
The Foundation, led by the Chairman and CEO of the Philadelphia Eagles, Jeffrey Lurie, manifests its steadfast commitment to progressing autism research and care amidst its comprehensive grant allocation. Lurie highlighted the detailed selection process curated by a scientific review panel led by Dr. DiCicco-Bloom. This panel was composed of premier experts in the field, who stringently assessed each proposal before making the conclusive decisions.
A Call for Continued Support
This grant allocation announcement not only displays the monumental strides taken by the foundation but also stands as an appeal for consistent support and participation in the upcoming 7th annual Eagles Autism Challenge, expected to take place on May 18. Beyond the goal of raising significant funds for autism research and care, the event also brings to light the trials encountered by individuals with autism and the pressing need for well-grounded research and backing in this field.
