From our source, the first-ever Police Staff Week of Celebration and Recognition, scheduled to take place from 4th to 8th March 2024, derives from a remarkable initiative by the National Police Chiefs’ Council (NPCC) in collaboration with the College of Policing. This event intends not only to celebrate but to recognize the indispensable, yet often unnoticed individuals who serve in various roles within the policing community.
These unsung heroes encompass everyone from the diligent call handlers and meticulous crime scene investigators, to the vigilant Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs), insightful analysts, and efficient fleet managers.
Endorsing Workforce Passion and Commitment to Maintain Public Safety
Our very own APCC Lead for Workforce, Peter McCall, lauded these police staff for their unwavering dedication, unyielding commitment, and unmatched loyalty. He spotlighted their pivotal role in maintaining public safety and preventing crime across the nation, thus illustrating the immeasurable value they bring to our community.
McCall further pressed on the importance of acknowledging the countless contributions made by these individuals. In doing so, he believes that more highly qualified candidates will be attracted to serve in various policing capacities, thus enriching the diversity and skillset within the profession.
