Saint-Gobain Expands Portfolio Through Acquisition of International Cellulose Corporation

Saint-Gobain, the global leader in sustainable and lightweight construction, has recently widened its product range through the acquisition of the International Cellulose Corporation (ICC). The latter company specializes in commercial specialty insulation products such as spray-on thermal and acoustical finishing systems. ICC products have been recognized for their sustainability with LEED V.4 and GREENGUARD Gold certifications. The acquisition reinforces Saint-Gobain’s commitment to achieving net-zero carbon by 2050 as ICC products have high sequestered carbon content.

Integrating Sustainable Products into Commercial Spaces

ICC’s array of products seamlessly fit into Saint-Gobain’s existing insulation solutions provided by CertainTeed and GCP. This move goes beyond enriching the company’s fireproofing offerings. It also enhances acoustic insulation options available for commercial spaces. Included in the acquisition deal is ICC’s manufacturing site in Houston and its subsidiary, Ecosorb International.

Saint-Gobain’s Consistent Growth across North America

The latest development comes after a series of Saint-Gobain’s expansions in North America. The conglomerate has recently launched a new roofing manufacturing and distribution center in Texas, a gypsum paper board liner facility in Virginia, and acquired the Building Products of Canada Corp. Additionally, it has expanded a CertainTeed Gypsum facility in Florida, launched CertainTeed Corners in Georgia, and invested in technology for asphalt shingle waste recycling. Operating with over 145 manufacturing locations, Saint-Gobain remains firmly dedicated to achieving its sustainability goals.

Expanding Opportunities for the Workforce

In line with its unyielding expansion, Saint-Gobain is extending its workforce with vacancies available on the company’s careers site. CertainTeed, being under the umbrella of Saint-Gobain, provides an array of interior and exterior building solutions that are energy-efficient and promote high-performance construction. The recent acquisition of the ICC allows Saint-Gobain to further strengthen its position in sustainable construction solutions and make its mark in revolutionizing the industry.
