Memorandum Signed to Facilitate Aspirational Careers for Underprivileged Women

The Collaborative Effort by Dr. O P Bhalla Foundation, Manav Rachna Educational Institutions, and Workverse

The joint project between Dr. O P Bhalla Foundation, Manav Rachna Educational Institutions and Workverse, spearheaded by founder Samyak Chakraborty, has been announced. Advisor Navya Nanda and Nimaya, co-founded by Nanda, will also be involved in the program. The alliance is targeted towards The Smart Fellowship, a program designed to help women from restrictive backgrounds to form aspirational careers. A total of 60 underprivileged students are expected to participate in the program which will span five weeks and total 70 hours of instruction.

The Purpose of the Initiative

The objective of this initiative is to overcome socio-economic barriers and empower girls through development. 21st-century skills are targeted for growth, such as problem solving, critical thinking, establishment of entrepreneurial mindsets, and emotional intelligence, among others. The course includes exposure to self-paced content, live case studies, in-person activities, workplace simulation, placement training, and soft skills workshops.

Program Details

The Smart Fellowship program offers five weeks of soft skills training, including animated modules on workplace intelligence, masterclasses with industry leaders, and simulated work environments. Certificates will be issued upon completion and ‘workplace intelligence profiles’ will assess the student’s performance within the ten program modules. Engaging material and talk series will keep the students informed and excited about the prospects of this program.

Committed Enrolment

Dr. O.P. Bhalla Foundation and Balaji College of Education, Ballabgarh, Faridabad have guaranteed female students’ participation in the program. The college promises to ensure a minimum of 85% individual attendance for course completion.

Orientation Programme

An orientation programme was also held to discuss the course structure and expected benefits of The Smart Fellowship course.

Officials’ Thoughts on the Program

Dr. Prashant Bhalla commended the comprehensive program of The Smart Fellowship as a mentorship platform for promising talent from restrictive circumstances and aligning with the Foundation’s work in adopting villages and schools in Faridabad. Dr. NC Wadhwa believes the collaboration goes hand-in-hand with the vision of late Dr. O. P. Bhalla, stressing the attainment of healthcare, skill development, gender equality, and education through multi-disciplinary approaches.

Visionaries’ Perspective

The mentors, Navya Naveli Nanda and Samyak Chakrabarty, believe in the power of involving women more prominently in the country’s economic growth. The changing nature of work underlines the need to transform the concept of upskilling. They emphasized the importance of tackling automation-led professional redundancy, especially for women.

Positive Outcome

The collaborative effort targets creating a positive impact on the lives of underprivileged students, laying the foundation for their personal and professional growth. The program aspires to break socio-economic barriers and equip these young students with essential skills. The partnership signifies the vision to create an inclusive and empowered workforce contributing to societal progress.
