Minister Challenges Rivals on State’s Economic Growth
In a recent gathering in Visakhapatnam, Gudivada Amarnath, our well-known Minister in charge of Industries and IT sectors, confidently dared opposition parties and media outlets who support the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) to acknowledge the significant industrial growth witnessed in Andhra Pradesh under the current government, led by Jagan Mohan Reddy.
Astonishing Surge in Industrial Progression
Amarnath offered an impactful comparison of the industrial evolution of the state, spanning the periods both before and after 2019. Drawing attention to the fact that the prior government, under the steer of Chandrababu Naidu, managed to attract investment amounting to approximately 40,000 crores, the present government has dramatically escalated this figure, drawing in over 90,000 crores worth of investment.
MSMEs and Job Creation Tripled
Substantiating his points further, Amarnath highlighted a significant increase – three times as many – in the foundation of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), with numbers rising from 1.20 lakh during the mandate of the TDP government, to a substantial 3.50 lakh under the current Reddy administration. He emphasized that this uplift has generated employment for a commendable 15 lakh citizens, delivering an appreciable boost to the state’s economic landscape.
Shutdown of Industries versus Current Developments
In a biting criticism of the Opposition, Amarnath voiced disappointment over their lack of acknowledgement of the considerable number of industry closures – a staggering one lakh – experienced during the tenure of Naidu. He contrasted this with the encouraging developments enabled under Reddy’s government, such as the inception of ATG Tyres, AC manufacturing facilities, and Green Hydrogen hubs, managed by the National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC).
The Minister also showcased praises from global business heads during the Global Investors Summit, complimenting Andhra Pradesh’s industrial advancement. Referring to projects like the development of three new ports, a new international airport, and the Adani Data Centre, he credited these accomplishments to Jagan’s forward-thinking investment strategy.
Arrival of IT Majors in Visakhapatnam
Adding to his emphasis on the state’s progress, the minister cited the keen interest shown by eminent IT organizations like Infosys, Wipro, IBM, and Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) in establishing their units in Visakhapatnam. He exuded confidence in the likelihood of the YSR Congress Party’s (YSRCP’s) retention of power and urged the Opposition and TDP-supporting media to facilitate rather than obstruct the state’s advancement.
To conclude, Minister Amarnath communicated his willingness to continue to serve his party in any role required and expressed his sincere gratitude towards Jagan for his political opportunities.
