132 Padma Awards Approved by the President for 2024

Source: Reader Wall reports that the President has endorsed the conferment of 132 Padma Awards for 2024. This shows a significant rise from the 106 given out in the previous year. The awards are divided into different categories, with five bestowed with Padma Vibhushan, 17 with Padma Bhushan, and 110 with Padma Shri.

Breaking it down further, the list of awardees includes 30 women. Additionally, nine individuals from the “Foreigners/NRI/PIO/OCI” category have been selected for the honor. Furthermore, there are nine posthumous awardees.

These awards are generally announced on Republic Day, each year.
