Shocking Shooting Incident at Hill Line Police Station in Thane
According to our sources, on Friday night, a shocking incident of violence unfolded within the Hill Line police station in Ulhasnagar, Thane. Allegedly, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Ganpat Gaikwad fired shots at Shiv Sena leader Mahesh Gaikwad and a member of his entourage. The dispute appears to stem from a land conflict. The violent episode has resulted in the arrest of Ganpat Gaikwad and two others. Ongoing investigations are underway to apprehend three more individuals linked to the conflict, including Vaibhav, the son of the arrested BJP MLA.

The violent conflict seemingly emerged from a legal battle over a piece of land in Thane. Our sources reveal that a protracted court battle about the disputed property has been dragging on since 2012 between Neeta Eknath Jadhav’s family and Pramod Ranka, one of the partners of Fairdeal Developers. Despite a pending appeal with the Maharashtra government’s revenue sector, Ranka allegedly set up surveillance on the contested land and employed a security guard to protect it. The situation took an unpleasant turn when Jadhav and her kinsmen confronted Ganpat Gaikwad at the location, triggering a heated exchange, resulting in an alleged physical attack by Gaikwad.
Arrests and Filed Charges
Multiple sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act have been declared against Ganpat Gaikwad and seven others. However, despite these charges and subsequent arrests, the Thane police Crime Branch continues their investigations and hunts for the remaining suspects in hiding.
