Aam Aadmi to Contest All Seats in Haryana
The representative of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Sushil Gupta, has confirmed their intention to contest on every seat in the upcoming Haryana Assembly elections. This news comes directly from Reader Wall. Gupta also mentioned that the party’s state division is considering the same approach for the Lok Sabha elections.
AAP’s Plan for the Coming Elections
Gupta revealed that the party’s stand on the forthcoming general elections has been relayed to the national leadership of AAP. The party has the power to be in contention independently, or in alliance for the future Lok Sabha elections.
“The state leadership of our party believes we are in a strong position to contest the elections either independently or as part of a coalition. The top brass of the party will make the final call,” according to Gupta.
The Haryana Legislative Assembly elections are slated to take place later this year.
The Track Record of Aam Aadmi Party
Currently, the BJP, with Manohar Lal Khattar at the forefront, has governed the state since 2014. The previous Haryana assembly elections saw the AAP contesting alone in 46 constituencies but securing less than a 1% vote share. On the other hand, the BJP significantly dominated the election, clinching a significant 58% of the total vote share in the state.
When it came to the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the AAP formed an alliance with Dushyant Chautala’s Jannayak Janta Party (JJP) to contest three seats— Ambala, Karnal, and Faridabad. In these constituencies, the party managed to win approximately 45,400 votes.
Significant Departures from AAP
Recently, the AAP, led by Arvind Kejriwal, has seen the departure of numerous high-profile party members in the state. Specifically, notable personality Ashok Tanwar resigned from the party and later allied with the Bharatiya Janata Party.
This event and the AAP’s determination to fight all seats in the Haryana Assembly elections signal an exciting and dynamic period in the state’s politics. More information on this matter will follow from our reliable news source, Reader Wall.
