Starting from March 11, the inhabitants residing near the Town of Hillsborough, and some adjacent regions in Orange County, might potentially experience ground vibrations and loud explosive noises. These shaking sensations and echoing sounds will be due to rock blasting operations. These activities will be conducted as part of a construction work project in the area.
Description and Location of the Project
Our sources report that the blasting operations are linked with the development of a new entity, the Research Triangle Logistics Park. The location for this project has been determined to be 157-UT Diversity Drive, strategically positioned next to two important highways: I-40 and the historical Old N.C. 86. This upcoming project is a collaborative endeavour between the town and the county, laying out a vision to create multiple facilities dedicated for light industrial, manufacturing, and warehousing purposes.
Impact of Blasting Operations on Traffic
According to our sources, one of the foremost priorities during the blasting operations is the safety of the residents. To ensure this, there will be temporary interruptions on the flow of traffic along I-40 during the blasting periods. However, residents will be relieved to know that the Old N.C. 86 is expected to remain open and functioning during these times.
Safety Measures and Schedules
