PHS Automotive Malaysia to Take on Audi Distribution in Malaysia

PHS Automotive Malaysia (PHSAM), a branch of Porsche Holding Salzburg (PHS), is about to become the official distributor for Audi in Malaysia. This prominent move in the Malaysian car industry entails PHSAM managing the wholesale, marketing, and aftersales services of the brand. PHS, which is part of the Volkswagen Group, is a top car distributor in Europe and controls Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia (VPCM). Erik Winter and Kurt Leitner, the heads of PHSAM, are also serving as managing directors of VPCM.

Gearing Up for Audi’s Growth in Malaysia

Erik Winter explained the competitiveness in the premium car market and Audi’s untapped market potential in Malaysia. Audi plans to solidify its presence by enhancing its SUV, S line, and quattro ranges. The key player in this strategy is electrification. PHSAM aims for consistent growth by enhancing aftersales services, adding to the dealer network, and emphasizing customer satisfaction in collaboration with dealer allies.

New Benefits for Audi Customers

Starting July 1, Audi customers will receive several benefits. These include three years of free maintenance, an unlimited mileage warranty for five years, and five years of roadside assistance. Audi Centres are currently in Juru and Glenmarie, along with a service center in Ipoh. The Audi Centre in Setia Alam is due to come back to operation on August 1.

Introduction of Audi SQ8 e-tron and Audi SQ8 Sportback e-tron

PHSAM has recently introduced the Audi SQ8 e-tron and the Audi SQ8 Sportback e-tron in Malaysia. Both are priced at RM519,990 and RM529,990 respectively. These SUVs are Malaysia’s first tri-motor electric vehicles. Their dual rear and single front-motor setup boasts a total production of 370 kW and 973 Nm. Such power lets the cars accelerate to 100 km/h in only 4.5 seconds and reach a maximum speed of 210 km/h. The EVs offer fast charging and a 458-471 km range when fully charged. They come with numerous interior and safety features, and they are provided with a two-year unlimited warranty. This can be extended to five years with the Audi Assurance Package.
