Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted the unity felt across the nation during the consecration ceremony of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya on January 22nd. He expressed these sentiments during the first Mann Ki Baat broadcast of this year.

When the Prime Minister inaugurated the long-awaited Ram Temple on January 22nd, it was considered a turning point in Indian history. This culminated a prolonged dispute, and simultaneously fulfilled a cornerstone promise of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) electoral agenda.

Constitution and the Ram Connection

The Prime Minister discussed the transformation of the Padma Awards under his governance, celebrating the awards as being by the people and for the people. He mentioned that the public now can put forth nominations, leading to a significant increase in nominations compared to the previous decade.
He praised the honorees of this year’s Padma Awards, who were announced on the occasion of the 75th Republic Day, for their endeavours at grass-root level that have brought about significant changes despite staying away from the limelight. He also acknowledged the foreign recipients who have contributed to accentuating Indian culture and heritage.
Widespread Women Participation in Republic Day Parade
In his closing remarks, PM Modi applauded the prominent presence of women in the Republic Day parade. He particularly noted the presence of women in 11 out of the 20 contingents and their widespread involvement in cultural programs.
