Massive Liquor Smuggling Racket Busted in Villupuram
Our sources report a significant law enforcement operation carried out by the Prohibition Enforcement Wing and the Central Intelligence Unit in Villupuram district, resulting in the seizure of 2,794 bottles of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL). The contraband was being smuggled from Puducherry and intercepted at Vikravandi near Villupuram.

Seizure and Arrest
During these inspections, an SUV was intercepted leading to the substantial seizure. Among the contraband were 2,794 bottles of IMFL concealed and intended for unlawful circulation.
Additionally, a 27-year-old male, R. Surya, from Kalaignar Nagar in Vanur, has been placed under arrest associated with this smuggling operation. Surya is currently in custody, and formal charges are have been filed against him.
