Emergency Operation by Indian Navy’s Helicopter

The Indian Navy’s helicopter, dubbed ALH MK III (MR), flew off from INS Shikra on January 16, responding to an urgent call from a French container ship. The ship, CMA CGM Palais Royal, was nearly 65 nautical miles from the Mumbai harbor. A crew member was suspected to have a serious eye or brain condition. The news comes from the source of Reader Wall.

Risky Rescue Amidst Difficulties

There was no suitable place to land on the ship, which posed a significant challenge to the rescue operation. The patient had to be lifted in a rescue basket from the restricted area of the ship’s control center. The helicopter team had to conduct the operation with high accuracy and expert control.

Mission Accomplished Successfully

Despite the difficulties, the mission was a success. The patient was transferred back to INS Shikra safely. This operation showed the readiness and skills of the Indian Navy in handling emergency situations, even under tough conditions.
