Essity, a renowned company for its health and hygiene products, has been monopolizing headlines lately. Their most recent successful testament is securing a top spot on the Corporate Knights’ Global 100 list. This list honours the world’s most sustainable firms and experts disclosed this news at the World Economic Forum in Davos. Global Ranking Determined by Corporate Knights
Corporate Knights, a leading firm in sustainable and ethical business standards, adjudicated this ranking. It had to sieve through a total of 6,733 different companies for the final decision. Their evaluation relied on 25 distinctive performance indicators. These included metrics like sustainable revenue, wisely invested funds, amount of taxes paid, carbon productivity, and employee diversity.
Essity’s Commendable Efforts Towards Sustainability
Essity’s CEO and President, Magnus Groth, has openly shared his satisfaction regarding their company’s achievement. This ranking strengthens their corporate governance and signifies their responsible business conduct throughout their supply chain. A Glimpse at the Concept of Global 100
Each year, Corporate Knights compiles the Global 100 index, a list devoted to ranking the planet’s most sustainable corporations. For instance, the companies listed in the 2024 Global 100 owed 51% of their income to sustainable sources. This was a 1% increase from the year before. They also delegated an impressive 55% of their resources to sustainable projects, a significant rise from 47% in the previous year. The index records firms across 38 industries using 25 different metrics, which cover facets like sustainable investment and revenue, diversity in terms of gender and race, CEO pay, tax contributions, and pension plans for employees. It’s no surprise that Global 100 ranked companies are often praised for their valuable contribution to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) benchmarks.
